This is the night where the page fights back. Each of tonight's writers treats English not as a transparent window but as a material -- something with grain, resistance, and political history. Anzaldua switches languages mid-line and dares you to keep up. Cha makes you feel what it's like to have your mother tongue replaced by dictation in someone else's. Coover splinters a single evening into contradictory versions that can't all be true. Don't try to get these on first pass -- sit inside the disorientation. That's where the meaning lives.
